Happy Pi Day

From a friend: "Pi, Greek letter π, is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Pi = 3.1415926535... Pi Day is celebrated by math enthusiasts around the world on March 14th.

“If, in a circle, a line
Hits the center,
and runs spine to spine,
And the lines length is D
The circumference will be
D times 3.14159.”

Last year we went all out. I sent greetings to my math loving nephew, made a pizza pi for dinner, we colored a pinwheel of the first 100 digits in pi.

How does a drill sargeant teach pi?
March 14 is mighty fine,
3 point 1 4 1 5 9

Also, MIT sends out its acceptance letters the week of pi day. If you didn't plan accordingly you could instead join Europe in celebrating Pi Approximation Day 22/7(July 22nd)
For some reason the others at Science co-op last year though I was odd.
